What is TypeScript?
TypeScript was designed by Anders Hejlsberg (designer of C#) at Microsoft. It was first made public in October 2012 (at version 0.8). It was created to overcome the difficulties of developing huge applications with JavaScript, such as those used by businesses.
TypeScript is both a language and a set of tools, is a superset of JavaScript that has optional typing and compiles to plain JavaScript. Since TypeScript compiles into JavaScript, then it can be used on the front-end and the back-end.
